Neera Mohess, MHC-LP

Neera Mohess is an integrative psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating mental health challenges, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, emotional neglect, grief, and trauma. She draws on motivational interviewing, as well as behavioral therapies (CBT, DBT, ACT) and psychodynamic approaches, to support meaningful and lasting change.

Neera is committed to creating a safe therapeutic space where each person is heard and supported. She collaborates with her patients to recognize their strengths, build practical strategies, and deepen insight in ways that promote personal growth and emotional well-being.

Neera has worked at the Samaritans of New York hotline, supporting callers experiencing suicidal ideation. She has volunteered with the American Red Cross, providing assistance to New Yorkers displaced by fires and other emergencies. She also served as a Volunteer Advocate with the Mount Sinai Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Program (SAVI), offering emotional support and crisis intervention to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and intimate partner violence in emergency departments across New York City.

Neera holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lehman College, a Master of Library Science from Queens College, and a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Baruch College.
