Erin West

Psychotherapist for Individuals

Smiling red-haired woman in a casual blue shirt.

Erin approaches therapy with warmth and curiosity, rooted in the belief that each person is the expert on their own life. She creates a safe, compassionate space for patients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. Her collaborative approach and ability to draw on multiple modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing—allow her to address each patient’s unique needs.

Before joining Gotham Psychotherapy, Erin worked in an outpatient program supporting adults with substance useand co-occurring mental health diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. She is especially passionate about helping patients navigate life’s challenges, develop healthy coping strategies, process trauma, and move through transitional moments.

Erin has a strong foundation in mental health counseling through her training at Manhattan University. She also brings a deep understanding of the mind-body connection from her extensive work as a personal trainer through her company, MOVE by Erin West, where she has helped countless individuals achieve physical goals while fostering healthy thought patterns and body acceptance.

In addition to Erin's areas of special focus, she is qualified and experienced in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, burnout, couples and family issues, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders (including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, chronic illness adjustment, sleep disorders, somatic conditions, work and career stress, identity and existential concerns, perfectionism, cultural and racial identity stress, and life transitions. Using an eclectic range of evidence-based approaches, she provides compassionate, individualized care tailored to every patient she serves.
