Ella Perlmutter

Ella’s approach is collaborative and compassionate. She draws from person-centered, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches, tailoring therapy to meet each patient’s individual needs. Ella works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her goal is to create a safe and supportive space where patients can identify issues, honor their unique experiences, explore beneath the surface, and move toward a more self-aware and fulfilling life.
Ella has a strong foundation in mental health counseling through her training at Fordham University and the Institute for Emergence. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and has worked as a Research Assistant at Weill Cornell Medicine, where she focused on psychotherapy and depression in middle-aged and older adults.
In addition to Ella's areas of special focus, she is qualified and experienced in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, burnout, couples and family issues, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictive disorders (including alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, chronic illness adjustment, sleep disorders, somatic conditions, work and career stress, identity and existential concerns, perfectionism, cultural and racial identity stress, and life transitions. Using an eclectic range of evidence-based approaches, she provides compassionate, individualized care tailored to every patient she serves.
